The classes were attended by soldiers who will be part of the 17th Infantry Regiment. Changes to the Polish Military Contingent in Iraq During the simulation, they practiced, among other things, moving around in an urban area while escorting a VIP, moving vehicles in a column carrying important people, and techniques for evacuating a person from a threatened area. In order to achieve better training effects, the classes were conducted simultaneously in small groups. Police instructors paid particular attention to, among other things, operating in facilities and stopping and searching people.
The classes were conducted by a group of instructors, including a lecturer in intervention tactics from the Police School in Słupsk, an instructor from the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police, and a retired special forces operator. This is not the first joint training of police officers from the Police School in Słupsk and soldiers of the 7th Coastal Defense Brigade. In the past, police lecturers conducted classes with soldiers of the 7th B.O.W. who served as part of the KFOR contingent in the Balkans. These included tactical classes, stress management exercises, and lectures on the cultures and religions of the Balkan countries where Polish soldiers and Polish police officers operate.
This is yet another in a series of such training courses. The most important, cyclically implemented undertaking is the preparation of subsequent rotations of the Polish Police Special Unit, which serves in Kosovo. The School's lecturers also systematically participate in joint exercises and exchange of experiences with German, Lithuanian and Croatian policemen, as well as with agents of the American Naval Criminal Investigation Bureau (NCIS) and U.S. Navy sailors.
