The 2023 Book of the Year plebiscite has been resolved

Over a quarter of a million votes were cast in the competition of the “Lubimy Czytać” portal. Therefore, it is the largest readers' plebiscite in Poland. The gala, organized on March 8 during the Poznań Book Fair, was opened by the Mayor of Poznań, Mr. Jacek Jaśkowiak, who took the honorary patronage of the Plebiscite. The guests were also welcomed by the president of “Lubimy czytać”, Izabela Sadowska, and the vice president of the Poznań International Fair, Filip Bittner.


Poles triumphed in the following categories:


Historical novel - Elżbieta Cherezińska, „Sydonia. Słowo się rzekło”

Crime, action, thriller - Sławomir Gortych, „Schronisko, które przetrwało”

Customary literature, romance - Aleksandra Negrońska, „Different”

Non-fiction, journalism – Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak „Chłopki. Opowieść o naszych babkach”

Youth literature - Weronika Marczak, „Rodzina Monet. Diament. Cz. 1”

Children's literature - Adam Mirek, Kasi Cerazy, „Bebechy, czyli ciało człowieka pod lupą”

Debut - Weronika Mathia, „Żar”

Film adaptation - "Peasants"

Book Man of 2023 - Nela Mańkowska Culturomaniaczka


The book with the most votes was "Chłopki. Chłopki. Opowieść o naszych babkach" (11,161 votes), and the most votes were cast by readers in the "Crime, thriller, thriller" category (24,861 votes).
