This is a 15% better result than in the record-breaking February 2020, when 265,000 travellers were checked in at this airport.
The spokesman of the Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice, Piotr Adamczyk, provided detailed data: in February this year, the airport handled passenger traffic of 303.9 thousand travellers and a total of 2,588 aircraft take-offs and landings took place there.
203.7 thousand passengers used the network of regular connections - 12 thousand more (an increase of 6.2%) compared to the second month of 2023.
Regular flights at Pyrzowice airport are operated by: Wizz Air, Ryanair, LOT Polish Airlines and Air Dolomiti. The most popular regular destinations were: Dortmund, London-Stansted, London-Luton, Athens and Abu Dhabi.
In charter traffic, airlines served 99.3 thousand of people, i.e. by 41.3 thousand more (increase by 71.1%). The most popular charter destinations were: Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm el Sheikh, Zanzibar and Antalya.
According to forecasts, throughout 2024, 6 million travellers will use the services of the Katowice airport in Pyrzowice.
Katowice Airport is one of the largest regional airports in Poland. Last year, 5.61 million passengers were cleared there. The year 2019 was record-breaking, when 4.84 million travellers were served in Katowice.
