Working under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure, an interdisciplinary team of specialists from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute and Ecco-Logic in cooperation with PGW Wody Polskie have developed an innovative method to eliminate the development of golden algae. SinStop, invented by Polish scientists, is completely natural and based on silicon. Research has shown its high effectiveness in inhibiting water blooms. It's a breakthrough on a global scale.

A scientific experiment conducted for several weeks on a separate section of the Gliwice Canal, aimed at eliminating the golden algae that causes fish kills, has ended in success. The SinStop preparation used for coagulation – a completely natural agent, fulfilled its role and influenced the inhibition of water blooms (including the inhibition of the development of P. parvum). Most importantly – scientists did not observe any negative impact of the preparation on animal organisms, and the effect obtained in practice protected the fish population, while initiating natural water self-purification processes.
– Based on the obtained observations, it can be concluded that the tested method is a safe and effective way of reducing fish kills and the overall phenomena referred to as water eutrophication. The lack of negative environmental effects combined with the high effectiveness of the method suggests that it is currently the only technology available that combines a number of advantages described above and does not cause any identified negative effects - said Prof. Robert Czerniawski, director of IMWM-PIB and one of the two leaders of this project (along with Krzysztof Gliński, CEO of Ecco Logic).
The wide use of the SinStop preparation invented by Polish scientists can significantly reduce the risk of further ecological disasters.
