MS Batory was a Polish passenger ship, a transatlantic liner, a twin of MS Piłsudski. The ship entered service in 1936 and sailed until 1969. Two years after the end of service, in 1971–1972 it was scrapped in Hong Kong. It was nicknamed "Lucky Ship". His successor was TSS Stefan Batory.
On April 30, 1947, he returned (for the first time after the war) to Gdynia. In 1949, he unknowingly illegally took Gerhart Eisler, an agent of the Comintern who was arrested there and released on bail, out of the USA. This was Eisler's second attempt to escape from the US; the first took place in 1948. It sailed on the North American line until April 1951, when, as a result of retaliation after the "Eisler affair" from the USA, the line was suspended after 46 voyages. In the meantime (from January 1, 1951) it became the property of Polish Ocean Lines.
