Just like last year, 48 unusual, sometimes completely unknown places from all over the country competed for the title of "new miracle". Regional tourist organizations, local guides, and the residents themselves helped in their search.
However, the deciding vote belonged to the readers of "National Geographic Traveler" magazine. A record-breaking 258,000 votes were cast in this year's edition of the plebiscite. votes. This is the best proof that readers still love discovering new places on the tourist map of Poland.
– We have no doubt that "Miracles of Poland" is the largest plebiscite in our country, the aim of which is to promote still underestimated places in our country. This year, even more people took part in the event than last year. The fight was even until the very end, and each of the over 250,000 votes cast for the nominated places could have influenced the victory - admits Łukasz Załuski, editor-in-chief of "National Geographic Polska" - It is worth emphasizing that even though the title of the new "Wonders of Poland" will go to only 16 places, each of the nominated destinations is worth visiting.
– Big congratulations to all this year's winners. Once again, our readers chose 16 new "Wonders of Poland" with a record number of votes. This shows how much we want to promote and discover our country. And how diverse it is. The list includes natural places such as Bory Tucholskie , including those with great history, such as the Łańcut Castle or the Srebrna Góra Fortress, but there are also cities such as Pyzdry and Lidzbark Warmiński, which are certainly worth visiting. I hope that "Miracles of Poland 2024" will become a unique, surprising travel route – emphasizes Michał Cessanis, editor-in-chief of "National Geographic Traveler" and ambassador of the plebiscite.
