Medal of May 3rd

The medal, a state decoration awarded in the Second Polish Republic, was established by a resolution of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland on April 25, 1925, as an honorable distinction for the results achieved at work by Polish citizens, an encouragement to noble competition among society and the stimulation of its sense of statehood.

Because it was not approved by the Sejm by an appropriate act, it was awarded only once - in 1925.

The badge of the distinction is a double-sided medal with a diameter of 30 mm, minted in silver. On the obverse there is an image of the state eagle, the same as the one on the then PLN 1 and PLN 2 coins. Below the eagle's talons there are two rhombuses and in the rim the inscription: "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA". On the reverse of the medal there is a two-line inscription: "MAY 3, 1925", and below it - an ordinal number with the award number. The medal was worn on a 38 mm wide ribbon (triangular or longitudinal) with transverse white and red stripes.
