At the beginning, the new construction didn`t meet the expectations. At minimum speed, the glider easily went into a spin. However, several technical and design changes improved the glider's controllability. The undoubted advantages of the new designated machine called SZD-25 Lis-A included a hard and durable hull.
The ready-made serial copy, with the registration number SP-2342, was first flown by engineer Skrzydlewski on 16th of August, 1961. The mass production of glider started a year later. It was produced at the Sports Aviation Equipment Plant No. 5 in Krosno. A total of 30 Lis were produced, 12 of them were exported. Today the glider can be seen at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow. The copy with registration number SP-3534 has been restored and is operated by the Aero Club in Gliwice.
